On the road again!

Bonjour Goa va repartir juste une dizaine de jours au paradis sur terre, l'Ile Maurice. Il y a déjà été en 2006, mais le mariage d'un ami d'enfance avec une amie locale est une bonne occasion d'y retourner. Goa a hâte de revoir à ses yeux les plus beaux fonds marins qu'il a connu dans sa vie. Les gens sont tellement sympas et les paysages si exceptionnels, sans parler du rhum! Goa
Hi, After few months, Goa will do a short trip to Maurtitus Island. He visited it in 2006 but his youth friend will marry with a local girl. So it's a unique opportunity not to miss. There are the best snorkel trips, amazing landscape and really friendly people and great rhum to try again! Goa

Derniere journee a Singapour/ Last day in Singapore

Bonjour,
Goa a passe une superbe derniere journee a Singapour, il a visite le zoo se trouve au centre de l'ile (qui n'a pas ete amenage dans une reserve naturelle). Ce zoo est exceptionnel, les animaux sont en semi-liberte et on se promene au milieu de singes et autres animaux etranges. Ensuite nous avons fait un tour du centre ville autour du MerLion, symbole de la ville. Le centre est compose de buildings tres modernes, sans grand cachet mais c'est etonnant de voir comment les locaux ont transforme le paysage (par exemple en transformant un estuaire en rivere d'eau douce). Il y fait tres chaud et humide. Au retour chez le frere de Bruno, nous avons apprecie la piscine, le sauna. Il faut desormais helas partir vers l'aeroport pour retourner en Europe. Goa va donner quelques nouvelles de son retour et transferera ensuite le blog vers un site elabore. Ceci dit, Goa a pris gout au voyage et a realise a quel point le monde est riche et fascinant, il va des que possible entamer un (voire) plusieurs autres voyages ambitieux. En tout cas l'Asie est un monde totalement different du notre, de culture collective et polytheiste, fascinant avec parfois aussi des cotes sombres (gestion catastrophique de l'environement, corruption...) mais dont on a tellement a apprendre. Ce type de voyage a transforme la perception de Goa sur le monde et son propre pays.

Hi, Goa had a great last day in Singapore. He visited the zoo located in the national park in the center of the island. This zoo is really amazing because animals are half-free and walk around you, like monkeys and birds. Then we walked in the town center, around the Merlion, that is the symbol of Singapore. The center is made of design huge buildings really modern but miss autheticity. That mad how the human could change the environment, for example converting an estuarian to a sweet water river Wheather is really hot and wet. Back to Bruno' s brother flat, we enjoyed a cool swim, a sauna but it's unfortunately time to say goodbye to Asia and head the airport to gain Europe. Goa will send news once back and will transfer the blog top a better site. It's not the last plan of ambitious trip that Goa had, because the world is so wide and fascinating that like an addiction, Goa will travel again for sure. Asia is really a fscinating world with a polytheist and collective culture, so different of us, there is good and some bad aspects (dramatic environemental issues, corruption,...) and there is so much to leran while travelling. This travel changed the perception of Goa about his life and his home country.

Singapour, derniere etape/ Singapore, the last step

Goa a continue la visite de Penang en Malaisie par la visite d ela colline de 800m, mais en raison d'une foule immense au Nouvel An chinois, nous avons du changer de programme et nous rabattre sur les jardins botaniques. Ensuite nous avons pris un vol vers Singapour (qui signifie la "ville du lion"). Goa a adore le court sejour en Malaisie et reviendra un jour pur mieux connaitre leur cuture fascinante. Singapour est une ville tres moderne et developpee. Le regime y est tres strict et ne tolere aucun ecart, il n' y a aucun papier par terre par exemple. La vie y est donc tres (trop) securisee. L'architecture est assez reussie et la vie assez agreable meme si tout semble aseptise. Nous avons profite d'un reopas sur Clark Quay at apprecie un concert live dans un club assez marrant. C'est assez incroyable de voir l'impatct de l'homme sur son environnement, il y a meme des climatiseurs en plein air. La population y est aussi tres metissee et Goa a hate de decouvrir l'immense parc zoo au centre de l'ile pour sa derniere journee de voyage!

Hi, Goa ended the Penang visit trying to visit a 800m hill, but due to the Chineese New Year overcrowd, he changed the plan to the Botanical Gardens and then caught a night plane to Singapore ("The Lion City"). Malaysia short visit was great and for sure Goa want to meet again the really friendly locals and its rich culture. Singapore city is really modern and developped. Due to a strict regime there is no paper on the ground and bad behaviour here. So life there is (too much) secure. The architecture is nice and life is easy despite it seems to aseptized. We had a lot of fun on Clark Quay during a live concert in a club. But it's crazy to see the impact of the human on his environment, there are even air-con outdoor! The population is also a melting pot here and Goa looks forward to visit the huge park and zoo in the center of the island for his last day trip! Goa

Malaise Penang et Georgetown

le bus sétant trompe de guest house en Thailande, nous sommes arrives avec 4 h de retard en Malaisie. Le trajet etait comique avec de la musique indienne a fond. Le passage frontiere s'est fait sans soucis, la Malaisie est un pays nettement plus moderne et riche visiblement que la Thailande (il y a du petrole). Nous avons pris un pont de 13 km sur la mer pour gagner l'ile assez grande de Penang et Georgetown, une ville coloniale tres charmante. Cette ville UNESCO mele les architectures Chinoise, Anglaise, Portugaise, Hollandaise et Mailaisienne. La population est tres metissee (il y aussi beaucoup d'indiens). Ce qui est exceptionnel est la bonne entente et cohabitation des differentes ethnies et religions (on croise dans le meme rue, mosquees, eglises, temples,...). La population est adorable et tres curieuse aussi (on a ete pris en photo plusieurs fois). Nous avons explore le parc naturel de Taman Negara qui nous a valu une baignade dans une plage entouree de jungle et de singes. Le voyage en vaut vraiment la peine. Goa

Hello, our bus was late of 4 hours due to an wrong pick up address in Thailand. The road was quite funny with indian music in the car. After an easy border crossing, Malaysia seems to be much more modren and richer than its neighboors (there is oil there :). We crossed a 13 kms bridge to gain Penang Island and its capital Georgetown. The mix bteween China, Portugal, Ducth and Malay influences gave a nice architecture there. Population is also a real melting-pot with also some Indians. The promxity in peace of various culture and religions is really nice to see. There is for example mosque, churches and temples in the same street. Locals are really relax, friendly and curious (we were photgraphied several times). We explored the Taman Negara Park and could enjoy a swim in the sea between some monkees and facng the jungle. The trip in Malaysia is really a must do. Goa

Krabi et Phan Ngha (James Bond Island)

La derniere journee a Ko Phi Phi a ete assez calme et reposante, Goa et Bruno ont ensuite regagne Krabi et visite les plages avoisinantes et magnifiques de Hat Ton Sai, Hat Rai Lee et Phra Nang (reputee pour etre la plus belle plage du monde). Il s'agit de baies entourees de montagnes calcaires et de grottes (un peu comme la baie de Ha Long). Aujourd'hui nous avons pris un tour pour explorer Phan Ngha et Ko Tapu ("James Bond Island" celebre dans le film de 1974 "l'homme au pistolet d'or") et des villages flottants avoisinants. Nous allons quitter la Thailande demain pour Pulau Penang, une grande ile sur la cote ouest de la Malaisie. La Thailande est vraiment un pays aux paysages de reve, les locaux ont un sens de l'accueil et du service exceptionnels malgre une certaine tendance a arnaquer ou surfacturer dans les endroits les plus touristiques. La diversite culturelle et la facilite de voyager sur place en font une etape agreable et incontournable de tout voyage en Asie.

Hi, our lats day in Ko Phi Phi was quite quiet and restful. Goa and Bruno then came back to Krabi to visit its surroundings beaches of Hat Ton Sai, Hat Rai lee and Phra Nang that are really amazing between limestone and karstic mountains like in the Ha Long Bay. The last one is known as one of the most scenic of the world! Today we also took a tour to explore Phan Nha and Ko Tapu island, also known as "James Bond Island" since the 1974 movie "The man with the golden gun". We also visited the surrounding floating villages. We'll quit thailand to gain Pulau Penang in the West coast of Malaysia. The landscape is really anazing in Thailand and locals are really nice and have a great sense of service despite some overcharging and scams in touristic areas. The wide cultural diversity and facility to travel make this a great and mandatory step in and Asian trip.
